National Denim Day
Denim Day is a powerful, global movement that began as a response to a court ruling that shifted blame onto a survivor of sexual assault based on what she was wearing. In protest, people around the world wear denim to stand in solidarity with survivors and to challenge harmful myths about sexual violence. On Kauaʻi, Denim Day is an opportunity for our community to come together, raise awareness, and send a clear message: we believe survivors, and we stand with them.
By participating in Denim Day, you are helping to break the silence, spark important conversations, and support a culture of respect and accountability on our island. We invite everyone to wear denim, join us at the Mayor’s Proclamation, and share your support using #UseYourVoice and #KauaiDenimDay2026. Together, we can create a safer, more compassionate community for all.
